10 MEMBERS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

BOSTON, July 1, 2010 -- At its recent annual meeting, the Massachusetts Bankers Association (MBA) elected 10 executives to serve in new positions on its board of directors including Kenneth C. Brennan, president & CEO of The Village Bank, the new chairman of the MBA, serving a one-year term.

Brennan has nearly 40 years of banking experience, becoming the CEO of The Village Bank in 1991. “The banking industry is facing challenges on many fronts,” said Brennan. “In the year ahead we will work tirelessly to promote the value that banking brings to our society and move to develop thoughtful changes that benefit both customers and institutions.”
Underscoring his own institution’s commitment to financial education, Ken Brennan has dedicated his tenure as chairman of the MBA in support of the Association’s ongoing effort to educate the public about financial issues of all kinds.
The Massachusetts Bankers Association represents approximately 190 commercial, savings and co-operative banks and savings and loan institutions located in Massachusetts and elsewhere in New England.
