CFPB Issues FAQs on Electronic Fund Transfer Act, Reg E

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) this week released a set of frequently asked questions that address the unauthorized transfer and error resolution provisions under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act and Regulation E.  The FAQs also address situations when a consumer is fraudulently induced by a third party to provide their account information or private network rules conflict with the regulation.

Senate Finance Committee Advances Treasury Nominees

The Senate Finance Committee recently advanced two key Treasury Department nominations, including the nomination of Nellie Liang to serve as undersecretary of the treasury for domestic finance and Lily Batchelder to serve as assistant secretary for tax policy.  The nominations now move to the full Senate for confirmation.

FDIC Hosting Technical Assistance Webinar to Assist Minority & Woman Owned Businesses 

The FDIC’s Office of Minority and Women Inclusion is sponsoring a Technical Assistance Webinar on Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 1:30 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. eastern daylight time.  The Webinar, “Proposal Writing: Things Unsaid”, will focus on best practices for competing for FDIC contracts.  

Although the target audience is minority- and women-owned businesses, the webinar is open to the public, including anyone interested in competing for contract awards to do business with the FDIC.  The agency is encouraging all banks to share this information with their customers, particularly small businesses.
